Invisalign® for Teens

Smiles in Progress

The Future of Your Smile is Clear

At Behl Orthodontics, we understand that being a teenager is hard enough without the hassle of metal brackets and wires. That’s why we are certified providers of Invisalign Teen®! With Invisalign Teen, you can straighten your smile without all the metal in your mouth.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an alternative to traditional braces using clear plastic aligners. Rather than using a series of metal brackets that are attached to the teeth (that are then attached together via metal wires) as is common with regular braces, Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to accomplish much the same thing in a far easier and more comfortable way.

Every few weeks, a patient will swap out one set of aligners for another - thus gently moving their teeth into the desired position over time.

Discover Invisalign Teen

Shh…no one needs to know! It’ll be our little secret! Invisalign Teen aligners are made of a smooth, clear plastic that’s virtually invisible! Your teen will enjoy the confidence of showing off your smile every day!

The Benefits of Invisalign

Your Teen Can Eat All Their Favorite Foods

By far, one of the major benefits of Invisalign for teens, in particular, is that there are virtually no dietary restrictions to speak of - meaning that they can continue to enjoy the foods that they’ve always loved without worry. Just be sure to make sure that your teen takes his or her aligners out of their mouth during a meal, brushes, and flosses afterward, and THEN puts them back in.

Your Teen’s Comfort Comes First

Likewise, another one of the reasons that Invisalign has become is the lack of wires or brackets that can break or cause pain at any point. Not only does this typically lead to a far more comfortable treatment, but it virtually guarantees fewer trips to the orthodontist.

Your Teen Can Keep Doing What They Love
Whether you play sports or a musical instrument, metal brackets and wires can potentially make those activities a bit harder. With Invisalign Teen, it’s easy to remove aligners for those activities. Just be sure to pop them back in right after! No matter what treatment you choose, make sure your teen wears a mouth guard if they play contact sports!
Your Teen Can Attend Special Events with Confidence

Finally, Invisalign can easily be removed for a special event, like graduation, a school prom, or a photo session. Teens won’t have to worry about having their Invisalign treatment immortalized for all-time because they can simply remove them before the event and put them right back in when it’s over.

How Many Hours a Day Should My Teen Wear the Aligners?

For the absolute best results, your teen should wear his or her Invisalign aligners for as long as they can every day. Really, the only times they should be taking out the aligners at all are when they’re eating or drinking something that isn’t water. They can remove the aligners every so often by choice, but this should be kept to a bare minimum to avoid any unnecessary delays for the treatment’s completion.

Can My Teen Still Have an Active Lifestyle?

Absolutely! In fact, many teens, in particular, enjoy Invisalign® over traditional braces specifically because they don’t have to change their lifestyle in any appreciable way. As stated, if you’re going to continue to play sports, you should absolutely wear a mouth guard or some other form of protection just to be on the safe side.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The answer to this question is a difficult one to answer, as it can vary wildly depending on the patient. Some types of dental issues simply take longer to correct than others, and any unfortunate delays (as rare as they might be) can definitely drive up the cost.

In a general sense, most people find Invisalign to work out to be just about the same cost as traditional braces. The total length of treatment is similar, too - approximately two years in most circumstances. But when you consider all of the benefits you get that traditional braces simply cannot match, the choice is clear for most people.
